Feeling depleted? Give yourself 90 minutes and check out this self care routine.

Updated: Nov 16, 2022

I am super excited to share with you this self care routine. I have three boys- no, make that four (my husband counts) and finding time and place to relax and rejuvenate can be challenging. Especially with everyone home right now. ("calgon take me away")

Give yourself ninety minutes for this self care routine. Put it on the calendar and if you have "littles" share it with your significant other (send it right to their calendar if you can). It is an appointment you cannot miss.

In summary, your evening of bliss looks like this:

🧘‍♀️ Start with a 30 minute restorative yoga practice (Yoga for Relaxation). Roll out your mat close to a wall for this calming practice. Turn the lights down low or off and play my spotify yoga for relaxation playlist. Set up Candles around you and set the mood to chill. If you have some essential oils grab your favorite calming blend. When you are all set up, watch Yoga for relaxation on your device. No tricky moves here, anyone can do this practice.

🛁 After your restorative yoga practice head to the tub and start filling up the bath with hot water and add your bath salts and bubbles or use my detox bath recipe. Bring your candles from your yoga space and set those up to create your zen oasis in the bathroom. You will also want a washcloth, hand towel and a face mask, body and foot scrub(optional). Play your own chill music or check out my spotify Bath Zen

🛀Soak for at least 30 minutes. Have a glass of ice water with a lemon available. Give yourself a facial and body and foot scrub if you would like. Make sure the house knows you are not to be disturbed.

🚿 after the bath (especially if you used my detox bath salt mix) take a quick cool shower and dry off.

🧴 When you are completely dried off, slather yourself with your favorite body butter or make my homemade body butter. (This stuff is killer! and I do not use any other lotion anymore. I use this on my entire body and face. I also use it in my hair and if you add a little sugar in a small container it's a great lip scrub). This recipe has evolved over the years but the original recipe came from https://www.ouroilyhouse.com/ and this gal has some great recipes for homemade non-toxic, clean products. I am still looking for a clean shampoo that actually works. Let me know if you have found one! Whatever you are using, put it on generously and give yourself a massage (give those tooties some love) and let it soak in for a while. Then, grab a terry cloth robe or towel and lay in bed and relax for about 15 minutes, so the body butter can soak in before you put your pajamas on and go to bed.

I hope you enjoy and find the benefits in a self care routine. Let me know and share any of your own self care practices and routines. FB page

Sweet dreams,

Marda
